CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WORLD CHAMPIONS!
Seniors Drew Accornero, Daniel Handrock, Robert Hobson, and Saqib Mohammad, along with instructor, Mike Waltz, traveled to Southfield, Michigan on Saturday, April 26 to compete in the 2008 Robofest World Championships. 

The team competed against 156 teams from as far away as South Korea, England, and France to see who could build and program the best autonomous mobile robots. In the Senior Game division, the LHS team scored 270 out of a possible 300 points to win the competition. In addition to receiving a first place trophy, each student on the team received a $2,000 LTU scholarship. Way to go RoboCowboys!

TRI-VALLEY COLLEGE FAIR
Livermore High School is pleased to be hosting the 2008 Tri-Valley College Fair on September 18th from 6:30 -8:00 p.m. in the large and small gyms. Many representatives from CSU’s, UC’s, Private, Out of State, Community Colleges, Career Technical Educational schools and the military will be present.  Please join us for this great, tri-valley wide event!  If you have any questions, please contact Caryl Shill or Kathy Adelman in the Livermore High School Career Center at 606-4812, ext. 2330.

GRADUATION DVDs AVAILABLE
DVDs of graduation ceremonies are now available for purchase from the Activities Office located in T-8. The cost is $10 per DVD. Please make checks payable to Livermore-Granada Boosters.

SAT/PSAT TEST PREP CLASS OFFERED THROUGH ADULT ED

                  Thursdays 9/4-10/2
                  6:00-7:30 p.m.
                  Room 1, Mr. Plencner
                  Course Fee: $175 (book included)

Location of class is at Ed Rundstrom Learning Center, 1401 Almond Ave., Livermore, CA 94550, (925) 606-4722.

This course is designed to prepare the student for the SAT 2400 test. The coure will concentrate on teaching the student the structure of the test and methods for successfully approaching each portion of the test, strategies for answering the various types of questions found on the test, methods and practice essarys. The course will also review important math concepts and work on building vocabulary. Register online at www.livermoreadulted.org.

STUDENT LOCKERS
For students of all grades who currently have lockers, you will need to have your locker completely cleared by Friday June 6th. All remaining contents will be discarded. Returning students will not be guaranteed the same locker next year. For those who would like to request a locker for next year, sign ups will begin at "Walk Through". The lockers will be issued after school begins based on class seniority. If you have a doctor's note and need a locker for medical reasons, please bring your note to "Walk Through" and we will make sure a locker is made available for you.

WEB STORE OFFERS WALK THROUGH AND SPORTS REGISTRATION
ITEMS ON-LINE
- If you're not a big fan of waiting in long lines to pay during the August Walk Through, we have good news for you. The L.H.S. Webstore now has the Walk Through items available to purchase on-line. From Class T-shirts to Back to School Dance tickets and all Fall Sports items can be purchased ahead of time using your Visa or Mastercard or debit card at the L.H.S. Webstore.

CELL PHONES, PAGERS, AND OTHER ELECTRONICS - Students are allowed to use cell phones and pagers on campus only before or after school, during breaks, or at lunch.  Students are never allowed to use cell phones or pagers in class.  Cell phones must always be turned off during class time.  Teachers may take cell phones or pagers from students if the cell phone or pager goes off or is visible in class. On the first occurrence the cell phone or pager will be held in the office until the end of the day. On the second occurrence a parent will be required to pick up the cell phone.  A third offense will be reason for suspension.   The school and the staff will not be responsible if confiscated cell phones or pagers are lost or damaged.

SCHOOL LOOP REPLACES IN-TOUCH ON-LINE - School Loop is a web-based education service that will provide a free homework e-mail and a web site specifically relating to your child at Livermore High. Parents and students can register in School Loop at any time. Once you have registered and the school year has begun, you may access information about your student's classes and assignments.
